Coriant Announces Resolution of Tellabs-Related Litigation against Fujitsu Limited
NAPERVILLE, Illinois, 9 March 2015 – Coriant, a global supplier of SDN-enabled end-to-end transport solutions, today announced the resolution of Tellabs-related litigation pending in the Northern District of Illinois with Fujitsu Limited ("Fujitsu") involving a number of patents and other intellectual property-related claims. Tellabs was acquired in December 2013 by Marlin Equity Partners, a global investment firm. In January 2014, the Tellabs packet optical product portfolio was merged under the Coriant brand, while the Tellabs access product portfolio was established as an independent business.
The parties have now resolved all of their pending claims, counterclaims and appeals against each other, in a confidential settlement agreement. The stipulations of dismissal will be filed in the trial and appellate courts.
"We have reached an agreement in which Coriant is pleased to bring to an end our long-pending litigation with Fujitsu," said Ken Rudofski, Assistant General Counsel of Intellectual Property, Coriant. "We develop award-winning and innovative products for our global customers, including the Coriant™ 7100 Packet Optical Transport Platform, and as always we remain committed to protecting our entire portfolio of products, technologies, and intellectual property."
Coriant/Tellabs was represented in the litigation by the Sidley Austin LLP law firm.
