Coriant Collaborates with Inphi and Dell EMC to Demonstrate Open Line System Interconnect Application at OFC 2017

Open Ecosystem and Best-in-Class Technology Innovation Enables 80km, Low Cost Optical Data Center Interconnect

NAPERVILLE, Illinois, 16 March 2017 – Coriant, a global supplier of SDN-enabled end-to-end packet optical networking and DCI solutions, today announced it has teamed with Inphi Corporation, a leader in high-speed data movement interconnects, and Dell EMC, a leading networking and Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure solutions provider, to demonstrate an 80km direct detect interconnect application at the Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) in Los Angeles from March 21-23. The demonstration showcases the operational value of open, plug-and-play optical layer configuration flexibility as high-bandwidth cloud applications drive increased demand for 100G+ Data Center Interconnect (DCI) and other DWDM transport applications.

Reinforcing the benefits of an open ecosystem, the best-in-class technology demonstration features interoperability between the 1RU Coriant Groove™ G30 Open Line System (OLS), Inphi ColorZ™ PAM4 QSFP28 DWDM platform solution, and Dell EMC Networking's Z9100-ON multi-rate Top of Rack (ToR) switch. The combined solution showcases how Communication Service Providers (CSPs), Internet Content Providers (ICPs), and data center operators can significantly lower the cost of interconnect with industry-leading low power, high density, and ease of deployment capabilities purpose-built for hyperscale traffic demands.
